# Entertainment markets

The entertainment pillar tracks **public, verifiable culture markets** with a soft tilt toward the FIFA World Cup 2026 window (June–July 2026).

## Market types

### Spotify Top 50 markets

* **Will track X enter the Spotify Top 50 by date Y?**
* **Will artist A overtake artist B on the global chart this week?**
* **Which artist holds #1 on July 19, 2026?** (World Cup Final day, multi-outcome)

Spotify data comes from the public Spotify Charts feed — free, daily-refresh, oracle-friendly.

### Opening and closing ceremony

Markets on **the FIFA World Cup 2026 opening ceremony performer lineup** and **closing ceremony**, when official announcements drop.

### Summer album debuts

* **Album X debuts at #1 on Billboard 200?** — yes/no
* **First-week sales over Y units?** — bucketed

### Box-office and streaming markets

Selective markets on **summer 2026 box-office releases** and **major streaming launches** — only when the data source is clearly public and easy to verify.

## Resolution

* **Music**: Spotify Charts (free public feed), Billboard for album-debut markets where available
* **Other public culture data**: source noted on each market's resolution page

Entertainment markets are **semi-manual** — an oracle pulls the data, but a human confirms the resolution before payout. This is why entertainment markets sit in a higher creation fee tier than crypto/sports (the semi-manual pillars cost more to list) and settle slightly slower (typically 24 hours from event close).

## What we don't list

Entertainment markets must be **clearly oracle-resolvable from a public source**. We don't list:

* Markets that depend on private, paywalled, or undisclosed data
* Markets about minors or non-public individuals
* Markets that touch personal relationships, deaths, or other distasteful subjects
* Markets where the resolution requires subjective human judgment without a clear public benchmark

If you propose a Community/Custom entertainment market that fails this filter, our review will reject it. See [Become a Market Owner](/for-market-owners/market-owners.md).

## In the app

Entertainment markets show up in **purple**.
